STEPS TO BECOME A FIREFIGHTER IN PENNSYLVANIA

Step 1: Fulfill The Minimum Eligibility Criteria

The Minimum Eligibility Criteria to be a firefighter in Pennsylvania is to be at least the age of 18-21, valid driving license of Pennsylvania, no criminal record and A high-school diploma/ GED certificate.

Step 2: Pass The Written Examination

This exam is to determine the personality, mechanical reasoning, mathematical reasoning, analytical skills and observation/memory skills of the applicant. The score should be of 80% or more to be a firefighter in Pennsylvania.

Step 3: Qualify The Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)

This test is classified into 8 minor tasks, where each one is of the duration of 10 minutes and 20 seconds. Each of this task is to determine the physical ability that is required to be a firefighter in Pennsylvania.

Step 4: Enroll In A Firefighting Academy
